KCAA and CBS settle lawsuit over repeats of Imus

Attorneys for CBS Radio and a California radio station have announced an agreement that will end a lawsuit to stop rebroadcasts of Imus' shows.

KCAA-AM has been airing Imus' past programs since the Monday following his firing.   The last "Imus in the Morning" repeat will air this Friday.

CBS filed suit last week, claiming the rebroadcasts violated copyright laws.

KCAA and CBS head to court

A hearing is set for today (3/24) in California over KCAA's airing of past Imus broadcasts.

Attorney Brian Oxman is defending the station, saying KCAA is trying to educate the public.

CBS filed a federal lawsuit in Riverside last week claiming KCAA-AM (1050) and its license holder violated copyright protections.

The suit seeks a temporary restraining order and $150,000 for each copyright violation.

California Station Sued For Don Imus Reruns

CBS Radio is suing a small radio station for airing reruns of Don Imus' program.

The lawsuit filed this past week in federal court in Riverside claims KCAA-AM and its license holder violated copyright protections. The suit seeks a temporary restraining order and $150,000 for each violation. A hearing is set for Tuesday.

The station, which had carried Imus' show since 2003, started airing recordings of old shows last Monday along with listener calls, mail and e-mails reacting to the controversy.  READ MORE
