Good evening all,

Well, where do I start? I'm stunned, saddened, and baffled by the direction this country is going in. Until the very end, I was confident that America was still the land of the free, the constitutional, and the informed. Last night proved me wrong (at least 52% wrong). Last night, the majority of Americans (assuming they were all Americans) chose to abandon freedom, the constitution, and the values our country was founded on in favor of a socialist, a marxist, a racist and antisemite named Barack H U S S E I N Obama.

It is a dark and somber day in American history. I will never forget the horror I experienced when the reality sank in. This phony, this manchurian candidate beat a proud patriot like John McCain.

The country of hardworking, taxpaying, English speaking, liberty loving Americans is in grave danger now. It makes me so sad to see. I'll have more to say later.

Larry Kenney is a Thunder Cat;)

Do me a favor and keep your insights to yourself, DTT. You were wrong, move on- or just move.

This site is still standing after the Obama tsunami , huh?

I wonder how many HA HA's were typed.

Well, DTT, I was not surprised.
And btw, to all conservatives on here, take it easy on Palin.
If you wanna blame something , blame the economic crisis.

McCain's chances of victory were ALWAYS slim to none. I'm sorry but it's true.
Conservatives who didn't believe that were in denial.
This country, as I said before is SICK and TIRED of the republicans and Bush.
Right or not, for better or worse, that's the way it is.
This country did NOT turn socialist overnight. It didn't vote in HUGE tidal wave numbers for socialism. It voted to turn the page.
I don't agree with it, but I honestly don't really blame them.

I think Bush will rise in the eyes of historians 50-75 years from now. I think he's gotten a bum rap so far.
But that's absolutely irrelevant now.
The country wants to move on.
The kids wanted to be a part of something they felt was historic. And it is.

The older people were wanting to get rid of the Bush era.
Don't go thinking that all the people who voted for Obama are commies and anti-americans. And don't go saying that "he's not MY president" That like the national review guy said "is nonsense."

And for the love of GOD, don't drink the HATE Obama kool-aid.
I've seen first hand the effect of HATE kool-aid in my family it's genuinely a sad thing to see/hear.
Don't give in to hate. IF you are around someone who wants to HATE Obama, don't give in to it.
It just kills your mind. I've seen it, I know.

The Left has NO more excuses. White guilt. Taken care of. Victimization? With all 3 branches of gov't in the palm of thier hands?
Please. Hating of America? Over with Cut it out.

You guys on the left have EVERYTHING you want now. Stop complaining.

Like Bill Kristol said, republicans are irrelevant now. No body cares what they say.

We lost. Deal with it. I'm dealing with it. It sucks. But I'm not complaining about anything. It kills me that Palin is being blamed. That should stop NOW.

From the very beginning of this race, Mac's chances were VERY slim, I know DTT said different, but come on.

Now let's hope that al-qaeda doesn't test him. Let's hope Iran doesn't go nuclear on Israel.
If Obama is as bad as I think he is, we have elections for that.
He'll be kicked out.

I'm a Civil War buff. We made it through that. We really can make it through anything.
We'll be ok.

Am not on the same side that you are, Brian, but good points re: hate, etc. I read some of the post elections posts; didn't see any real "ha-ha's".

Speaking of al-qaeda, WHERE is that semi-annual UBL tape?

Why didn't we hear from him? A tape was expected.
Nothing came of that. Makes me wonder even more about his fate.

He would want to appear to say "hey, I'm still here, I'm still a threat!"
Well, no appearance.
Very interesting. I noticed that no one seems to be talking about that.
Maybe it's just my area of knowledge, but I NOTICED IT.

One of the most interesting things will be who Obama puts in his cabinet.

imo, he should get on his KNEES and beg Robert Gates to stay on as SecDEF.
David Patraeus is a GENIUS. Obama MUST NOT get rid of those two men.

If he wants to win re-election, my advice?
Govern from the middle. Sure, it will piss off the base, but it will give him another 4 years.
Bill CLinton governed from the left in his first 2 years, what happened? The republican rev.
The country feels good now. If he governs from the left, he will lose that.

The cabinet, boys and girls. That point's to the future.

John McCain. the speech he gave last night was amazing. God I wanted him to win.
My heart broke.
But it was a hurricane that he was up against.

The man is a Hero. I have a few Heroes in my life, and he is one of them.
Truly an amazing man.

I feel like a giant atomic bomb went off in this country yesterday.
The mushroom cloud is still there.

I get how black people feel about this.
I was thinking about how inexperienced he is last night and what the founding fathers would think. I think they'd say this proves the experiment worked.
Anybody can be president. Which was the whole point of the founding. It sounds corny but that is what America is about.

I just wish that he wasn't so on the Left.
Well this country isn't a Left country, if he governs Left, he loses.

Congratulations to him, I hope he centers himself.

And Mac, you are one of my Heroes.

Listening to Sean Hannity for once he sounds like he has a brain.

Maybe he's full of shit, but he seems like he's willing to give Obama the benefit of the doubt.

I haven't heard Oreilly today.
Oreilly is a narcissist too. The only person on fox who is worth anything is Greta, really.
If she starts getting ratings in Oreilly's neighborhood, I say this as a joke, but she better look out for insecure oreilly.

And what Rove says is absolutely right too.
The bipartisan spirit on Fox is downright scary lol.
Once Obama enters the Oval, everything changes. The intelligence reports, the briefings, it's a pressure cooker.

I just hope I'm wrong about him. Because his policies that I've heard so far really do worry me.

Center, man, Center!

Unlike Brian, I am not willing to strike a conciliatory tone. Barack Hussein Obama is not qualified to be president. He was elected for the SINGULAR reason that he is black. Had he been white, he'd still be languishing in the Illinois legislature. What America did on tuesday was vote for affirmative action, racial discrimination, and racism, which are all, by their very nature, anti-merit, anti-achievement, and anti-constitutional.

I also truly believe that McCain had this election won until the economic crisis hit. For some odd reason, there are Americans who still believe that, when the economy sours, we need liberals in power. Don't they know that FDR PROLONGED the Great Depression? He didn't end it. People ignorant of their own history repeat it. Now we're stuck with a socialist, marxist, racist, and antisemite for president. What a dark, dark time in our history.

I was looking at the exit poll results yesterday. The only demographic groups that seem to have gone for McCain were white voters (56 - 43%) and voters over the age of 65. Osama Obama was put over the top by blacks, hispanics, young idiots, and enough scared people to turn a 52% majority.

Now is not the time to "work together". Now is the time to do anything within our legal means to undermine the Hussein presidency. With a little luck we can either impeach this monster (highly unlikely) or trash him enough that he is voted out in four years.

What a disaster this is. A true disaster.

I forgot to mention that I am CONVINCED that there was rampant voter fraud on tuesday. There's no way this was an honest election. I have never felt more ashamed of my fellow citizens.

We have taken the greatest nation on earth and turned it over to this sure failure. So sad.

Brian, I was wondering how you were doing. I feel your pain.

McCain had all the cards stacked against him. He did remarkably well inspite of the odds. I am extremely proud of Sarah Palin and expect to see much more of her in the future.

As Martha Stewart said -- "Suck it up." Well, Martha that's what I'm doing for right now--looking forward to 2010 and 2012 and perhaps turning this around.

Chuck Schumer (sp?) is coming up for re-election in 2010...let's help NY get rid of him.

Oh, without a doubt there was LOTS of voter fraud (Bart Simpson? one kid being signed up over 70 times?), blatant intimidation (the Black Panther thugs with clubs in Philly), and behind-the-scenes shenanigans that we can only imagine. But, it is done.

I am very concerned with what the combination of Obama and Pelosi & Co might bring to this nation in the next few years. I have no doubt we will survive - we are America, after all! - but it might not be a lot of fun in the meantime.

Time will tell.

Don't let the bitterness overcome you, DTT. The situation isn't great, but the world isn't coming to the end, either. It'll be alright.

Oh, Chucky Cheez Schumer is a piece of work, isn't he. One of the best arguements for term limits NY has - and NY has a bunch of 'em, both in The Rotten Apple and in UPState!

That seemingly anonymous post at 0800 is in fact mine.

Why doesn't that 'Remember personal info?' button work anymore?

Lynn, was on Fox & Friends this morning. I can only take so much "Liberal Crap" in the morning, and Imus in the Morning this morning, was all Liberal. This was one of the dirtiest campaign seasons, I can remember in recent American History BUT no one mentioned that this morning. How many open F.B.I. investigations are there right now, over this Campaign season, does anyone know? Quite a Few, but this was all above board campaigning, give me a break, that is the Liberal Media Talking Points.

This morning Lynn, remarked yes, we have come a long way re racism but sexism is a live and well (Look what the MSM did To Gov Sarah Palin and are still Doing) they don't fear retaliation, by women, the major consumers of "Mags" that is stoopid. It looks like, she would like to see a grassroots swelling of women for women. She invited everyone to the website below, and wants them to stay engaged. This is Not a N.O.W. kind of thing but a real promotion of women supporting women. The Media, and the Obama Campaign, and now failed McCain staffers, appear to think we don't notice, what they have done, and are doing to Governor Sarah Palin. Time to move on to something postive, link below.

The only thing the N.O.W. supports is the right to slaughter the innocent unborn. They should be delighted with the outcome of this election.

DTT said it all! He put the truth out there and really is the only one that stands up and says it like it is. Thank you DTT for your informative and truthful posts.

and you too happy, you say it like it is too. You stood up yesterday to a bully on here and I commend you.

I have given up on Imus. This pc crap has gone to his head. Good luck Iman, it was a great ride while it lasted.

Guess this is what we have to look forward to:

Blacks run the new black house b*tch!

Time for a smile, no?

The Sack Lunches

I put my carry-on in the luggage compartment and sat down in my assigned seat. It was going to be a long flight. 'I'm glad I have a good book to read Perhaps I will get a short nap,' I thought.

Just before take-off, a line of soldiers came down the aisle and filled all the vacant seats, totally surrounding me. I decided to start a conversation. 'Where are you headed?' I asked the soldier seated nearest to me.

' Chicago - to Great Lakes Base. We'll be there for two weeks for special training, and then we're being deployed to Iraq '

After flying for about an hour, an announcement was made that sack lunches were available for five dollars. It would be several hours before we reached Chicago , and I quickly decided a lunch would help pass the time.

As I reached for my wallet, I overheard soldier ask his buddy if he planned to buy lunch. 'No, that seems like a lot of money for just a sack lunch. Probably wouldn't be worth five bucks. I'll wait till we get to Chicago '

His friend agreed.

I looked around at the other soldiers. None were buying lunch. I walked to the back of the plane and handed the flight attendant a fifty dollar bill. 'Take a lunch to all those soldiers.' She grabbed my arms and squeezed tightly. Her eyes wet with tears, she thanked me. 'My son was a soldier in Iraq ; it's almost like you are doing it for him.'

Picking up ten sacks, she headed up the aisle to where the soldiers were seated. She stopped at my seat and asked, 'Which do you like best - beef or chicken?'

'Chicken,' I replied, wondering why she asked. She turned and went to the front of plane, returning a minute later with a dinner plate from first class. 'This is your thanks.'

After we finished eating, I went again to the back of the plane, heading for the rest room. A man stopped me. 'I saw what you did. I want to be part of it. Here, take this.' He handed me twenty-five dollars.

Soon after I returned to my seat, I saw the Flight Captain coming down the aisle, looking at the aisle numbers as he walked, I hoped he was not looking for me, but noticed he was looking at the numbers only on my side of the plane. When he got to my row he stopped, smiled, held out his hand, an said, 'I want to shake your hand.'

Quickly unfastening my seatbelt I stood and took the Captain's hand. With a booming voice he said, 'I was a soldier and I was a military pilot. Once, someone bought me a lunch. It was an act of kindness I never forgot.' I was embarrassed when applause was heard from all of the passengers.

Later I walked to the front of the plane so I could stretch my legs. A man who was seated about six rows in front of me reached out his hand, wanting to shake mine. He left another twenty-five dollars in my palm.

When we landed in Chicago I gathered my belongings and started to deplane. Waiting just inside the airplane door was a man who stopped me, put something in my shirt pocket, turned, and walked away without saying a word. Another twenty-five dollars!

Upon entering the terminal, I saw the soldiers gathering for their trip to the base. I walked over to them and handed them seventy-five dollars. 'It will take you some time to reach the base. It will be about time for a sandwich. God Bless You.'

Ten young men left that flight feeling the love and respect of their fellow travelers. As I walked briskly to my car, I whispered a prayer for their safe return. These soldiers were giving their all for our country. I could only give them a couple of meals. It seemed so little...

A veteran is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to 'The United States of America ' for an amount of 'up to and including my life.' That is Honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it.'

Larry Kenney...he was on the first show and Imus apparently axed him to make room for Karith, Tony and Rob. I sure miss him. I have yet to laugh out loud at anything Tony or Karith have done but I've started tuning out for the most part.

I'm sure all the politically correct liberal phonies love the new show.

Does anyone watch MAD TV on Comedy Central they do this skit titled "Lowered Expectations" DUH! Well you know Americans get the Government they Deserve anyway some Americans:)

I Miss Jack Nicholson, Larry Kenney did a killer Jack Nicholson impersonation.

DTT & Brian - I agree with both of you as usual. It's disturbing knowing fellow Americans voted for a socialist but they did and we have to accept it. We don't have to like it or agree with it but I am not going to become bitter and angry like the liberals. I'm also not going to shut up if/when he screws up. I wonder if the mainstream media will cover for him?

Mel - fox news is already doing just that! Did you hear how they jumped all over Nader cause he didn't bow down to the Messiah?

I miss Nicholson too. We have Paul Harvey instead.

I heard O'Reilly say he was going to be an Obama Watch Dog. He and Hannity will probably be the only ones with the balls to criticize him. We still have talk radio for now....but MSNBC being balanced about BO's job performance? Never going to happen, especially w/out Russert there.

The Paul Harvey impersonation SUCKS!!

If you watched Imus in the Morning this Morning, you would think everything was "Rainbows and Lollipops" Not quite.

Fox is reporting on the Media Bias, and the dirty tricks, that went on through out this campaign. It is incredible the MSM "creates the illusion" then sells it to themselves...you know they make it up, and then they start believing it themselves. There doesn't appear to be any neutral reporting, if there is I can't find it. There are a whole lot of networks lined up on the Left, then one channel lined up on the Right- Fox News.

I am watching less, and less cable news, and getting my news online. I mentioned before That Imus in the Morning, should expand it's Web Presence. This is the future, and it is better to get in when it is new before the parking lot fills up, and they are less likely to stick out. New Media is the Future. Many Print Mags, are announcing today, they are going strictly web based. Podcast are great but Patrick could do something with Imus in the Morning with RFD TV online. IF he is holding out thinking it would effect adding carriage by cable companies? This is going to be a missed opportunity, many people have been retrained to web based content.

Brian, very thoughtful and insightful posts- explains the yin and yang, I believe. Enjoyed reading your take on it all; it's been a loooong election season.

I didn't watch any news last night, watched a move with my son. I'll watch Fox & Friends and listen to talk radio during the day but that's it for now or until something awful happens.

All we can do is hope BO isn't as radical as we believe. The economy is so bad that he's not going to be able to pull off all the entitlements because there is no money to pay for them.

John Kerry, Secretary of State, lord help us. He was my Senator for years and is such a pussy.

What's this story about McCain staffers bashing Palin? What are they saying? The woman did everything asked of her and rallied the base in a short time.

John Kerry, Secretary of State, oh dear this is just one l o n g nightmare. Palin can't win for losing. She'll get her act together in short order and move on, I'm sure of it.

I agree with Brian about Bobby Jindal being an up and comer in 2012. I don't see Palin running on the top of the ticket. People either loved her or hated her - very little in between. I believe BO will easily be voted out in 4 years if he's not productive and people grow disillusioned when they discover he's not their Savior after all. Many of those red states he won can easily be switched again.

Oh sh*t

That interview with Shep Smith and Ralph Nader was something. He attacked Nader but Nader stood right up to him. Anybody who hasn't seen that, be sure you watch it. I don't remember seeing Shep so mad before. So I don't know quite what to expect from Fox.

But I do believe the media will definitely cover for Obama, just as they campaigned for him. That is one of the things that I worry about. It seems now they are trying to kill off Palin, I guess to try to damage her for the future. Gossip! Or just outright lies. McCain campaign people -- I don't know what is happening here. Carl Cameron yesterday was absolutely delighted to report catty gossip. So Fox? I don't know where they are going. But then I thought all along Carl Cameron was on the McCain plane but was really stabbing him in the back when he could. And O'Reilly? He's all bluster. Sean Hannity has already been called out at least 13 times so there's a bullseye on his back.

But what happens to Olbermann? Maybe he can go after Palin for four years. Otherwise, he's done. No more Bush. No more republicans. It's all on his side now. Kind of like who is there to blame if things don't go swimmingly?

Has there been a funeral for Ms. Dunham yet?

DTT, you are truly a hateful person. All you do is insult good, hardworking Americans. Democrats represent the working class in this country and who cares what language they speak? You generalize when you say that all Dems are on welfare and expect the government to take care of them. I don't know any that don't work hard for what they have. Obama ran a great campaign and he deserved to win. He has a big huge republican mess to clean up, so I'm not expecting miracles, but 8 years of hell are almost over. Things can't get a whole lot worse than they are now.

Ms. M

yeah why isn't personal info remembered anymore? LOOK this erection is over & Ralph Nader did call it right & MY question is this....if prez elect Obama is going to be everybody's president & is going to work at getting our trust, what will he do regarding the hoarded funds by banks in the bailout package he & Mac voted for? As well, Pelosi is advocating before he takes ofc another economic incentive package....what I don't like about any of this of course is NONE of these plans seem to be a REWARD for those who do pay their bills & DO drive the economy.....I have never asked for anything from "my" gvn't, don't really want anything from "my" gvn't but for them to play & pay FAIR! Gvn't function is NOT taking care of every group esp NOT at the expense of another...SORRY but I feel it is another tool in divide & conquer....why these career politico's keep getting elected is beyond me....PEOPLE got to stop voting that party line...& got to give up that mentality of the lesser of two evils, a long time ago I realized evil was evil & that both parties like to play at "bi-partisanship" like we are stupid & I guess maybe we are, cause they keep going back to Washington....& these pundits pls they are corporate owned servants....Shep Smith acting on "sir you said it, I didn't" was priceless if you honest to God understand, the 2 parties were pissed Ralph got 1% & I kept trying to impress upon the masses with the same denutting of Imus the practicalness of going Independent...another 4% & Independents would have been eligible for money to run with the major 2....What is going to happen I believe is the rich will get richer, the poor will get more & the shrinking middle class is going to PAY for it all....I've worked hard all my life & I know I am going to have to continue, just to maintain my present life style & to keep what I got & there will be no bailouts for me & those like me...& the really sad part about it all is this, those like me will most likely continue to vote for one of the major two, further cementing mine & their fates.....does anyone understand collusion? BOYCOTTING false senses of security

MSNBC reporting via Newsweek mag that Palin went on high end shopping spree. Spent more than 150,000.

McCain insiders said she was "Still a hillbillie looting Neiman Marcus." Spent money on Todd and children.
"revelations" from Newsweek. So, yeah, I think they will continue to go after Palin.

DTT was just venting his disappointment and does not want to sell out his values for 4 years.

If the Dems are so willing to work hard and provide for themselves, why vote for a man who wants to re-distribute the wealth? That is socialism and if you voted for socialism, you are for taking other people's money. Money someone else earned. What right do you have to take it away? It's morally wrong in my opinion. If you all are working so hard, why steal from others?

Ms M the government is also not for spending billions to rebuild other another country.

Obama hasn't redistributed anything. When he does, then you can complain. So far, you all are just repeating hype. I don't believe he'll do anything crazy. People voted him into office because we gave the repulicans a chance and they blew it. DTT should be mad at them, not at the people who have been screwed by the republicans.

Ms. M

Obama08, first time voter? got a clue as to DEMOCRAT billy clinton signed NAFTA/GATT into LAW & shortly before leaving ofc signed into LAW the deregulating of wall st? Plus the last two years of DEMOCRATIC controlled congress was on the campaign promise of bringing the boys home & ending that war in IRAQ....everyone is entitled to their opinions, after all this is the "land of the free" (my a!!) & you are entitled to yours but to herald O as the end all beat all is not very smart....& your stand to me reflects how little you know about the political system & systematically they are shrinking the working middle class unless you consider 3 jobs, REAL opportunity....Come on back, I am an ex-labor organizer that thought bill clinton was quite pig like & I am not referring to Monica......BOYCOTTING thoughts without FACTS

Who saw this one coming well Everyone who was paying attention.

Obama told Joe he wanted to redistribute the wealth - it came out of his mouth, no hype.

Why are you so sure he won't do what he said he'd do? I hope you're right. I hope he fixes all our problems, I really do. I'll be the first to say I was wrong if he does the right things for this country.

California not happy with Obama's followers position on Same Sex Marriage.

This doesn't look fair to me/snark!

Here's a link to the Ralph Nader Fox interview. The very last line is worth watching the whole thing. Nader: "Not. at. all."
